Bettie is an orchestra musician in a provincial French city. Her life takes a remarkable turn when she marries a brilliant Bulgarian violinist who sought asylum in the West prior to the fall of Communism in his country. Bettie however has a serious self-esteem problem. In one of her weary scenes, her husband, who could no longer take her insecurities, walks out on her. Feeling the world crash on her, Bettie is determined to get her husband back – no matter what. Devastated and grief-stricken, she consults a marabout, a West African shaman established in her town. Fervently she hopes that his spells will bring about “the return of the beloved.” In her quest for her loved one, will the marabo ut lead her to her true self?

Witness a psychological and geographical quest for love and self as you learn about shamanism, music and magic. A visit to foreign cities also awaits you in the engrossing pages of LES ARCHANGES N’ONT PAS LE SENS DE L’ORIENTATION: fable.
